Chipper Funerals has been serving families in Western Australia since 1889 and is proud to be a third generation family funeral director. Our funeral home locations include Myaree, Subiaco, Rockingham and Mandurah.
Chipper is a name long associated with the history of Western Australia. Arriving three months after the commencement of the Swan River Colony in 1829, John Chipper started to carve out a career for himself and to start a family which eventually resulted in eight children with wife Mary.
It was John’s grandchild Donald J Chipper and his wife Florence who founded the funeral home in humble premises in Murray Street before moving to Hay Street.
The Chipper family is extremely proud of the contribution made by Florence, who ahead of her time, ran the family business for over ten years after her husband died. Since then two more generations of Chippers have continued the tradition of providing care and support to families in the community.
Being part of the community is an integral part of the Chipper family business. We know how important it is to devote community time outside of the funeral home and believe that to be a productive member of the WA community, we need to give back to our families, local businesses, service organisations and civic groups.
